Thorough evaluation of your weight, body composition, metabolic rate, overall health status, and lifestyle. This comprehensive assessment will include the following:

We will measure:

Body anthropometric measurements
-Height
-Weight
-Waist Circumference

Resting metabolism measurement
Resting metabolism rate is the amount of energy expended while at rest in a neutrally temperate environment, in the post-absorptive state (meaning that the digestive system is inactive). Metabolism decreases with age and with the loss of lean body mass (muscle). Resting metabolism is usually by far the largest component of total caloric expenditure throughout the day.

Visceral body fat
Visceral fat is the deep belly fat that surrounds organs within the abdomen. It has been linked to health problems including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome -- a cluster of risk factors that greatly increase the chance of developing these health conditions.

Visceral fat is usually a red flag for possible health risks. Measurement of visceral fat is not just for the millions of overweight or obese people. Thin people can also have visceral fat if they're not fit.

Body fat percentage
A person's body fat percentage is the total weight of the person's fat divided by the person's weight.

Body fat percentage is a good gauge of an individual's fitness level, as it is the only body measurement which directly calculates the particular individual's body composition without regard to the individual's height or weight.

Diet history
Your dietary habits, likes, dislikes, and other important factors that contribute to your daily dietary intake will be assessed.

Activity level
Your level of exercise and activity plays an important role in the amount of calories your body will need to function properly.

Health history
Your current health, family disposition to certain diseases, and overall well-being play an important role in the type of activity you may be able to partake and the type and amount of food you should be consuming in a structured weight loss program.

Goal for the program
Based on multiple factors and your specific health and weight goals, our staff will design an individualized plan for you. This will help to increase your energy, boost your metabolism and develop long-term eating habits that will keep you healthy and in shape for years to come.
